The Swiss have brought their instinct for quality to bear in full force -- much to our amazement and delight. Swiss Mountain Cashmere and Silk is a yarn that will transport you into a rapturous state of grace at the first touch (assuming the color hasn't done that already). Really. When Bob and I opened our first shipment and laid hands on skeins that filled a case elbow deep, all either one of us could say was "oh" interspersed with prolonged "ah's" and more "oh's". Breaking away from the "Case of Wonder" to get on with other things was a ten to fifteen minute process involving more broken promises ("I'll be there in a minute, dear.") than I care to recount truthfully. This yarn is unlike any other that we've touched.

What sets Swiss Mountain Cashmere and Silk apart from any other yarn is that its unique quality of soft-smoothness (or is it, smooth-softness?) is indescribably sensual and luscious. Mouth watering, even, and very much more than I can convey in words. The fact that it really is spun in a Swiss Alpine village (doesn't this make you think of Heidi?) at a mill that has been spinning silk at the same creekside location for over 200 years adds a fairy tale element to a yarn that already seems to have been made by elves at midnight.

I foresee some thrillingly fine sweaters and strokably soft lace in all our futures.
