This yarn is so spectacularly delectable that Bob, who loves fiber and color but is not a knitter, actually sat down and wrote Kathryn at Fleece Artist to tell her what a find it is. This is a first - Bob is not particularly fond of writing.

What moved him beyond his usual preferences and into the realm of written correspondence? Well, Camel Spin is, as mentioned above, as soft and comforting as the finest Cashmere. The drape is beyond anything we could have imagined or hoped for - any shawl or scarf knit from it will fall along your body lines in ways even Ancient Greek sculptors would envy. It takes color as though it were silk alone: rich, inviting tones grace this fiber with a lustre that makes you think the light is coming from within.

Beyond that, it is as close to identical in weight to Fleece Artist's Merino 2/6 - one of the most popular lace yarns we sell. You can use it for any project you would otherwise knit in the Merino. Because of the weight of the silk, the yardage is a tad less, but your gauge will be the same. Just let us know if you want to substitute Camel Spin. We'll be happy to oblige - you'll be thrilled with the results!
