Linda Lehman is a knitting and crochet designer whose innovations have kept yarn companies and fiber workers happy and inspired for years. Although most of her energy these days goes to creating spectacular beaded jewelry designs (do visit Linda Lehman's Emporium of Wearable Art on etsy for some stunning examples), she was recently inspired by Hand Maiden and Fleece Artist yarns and asked if she could create some sock designs for us. We were thrilled and said, yes, yes, of course!

Her first design for us is the Ocean Gems, inspired by the radiant beauty of Hand Maiden's Sea Sock yarn featuring a bit of just about every luxurious fiber there is: Silk, Merino and Seacell. She chose a dazzling gemstone pattern and allowed it to work its way up and down the foot, as if the sparkle of the jewels carried them forward through the tides of the ocean. And, she cleverly sized it by suggesting changes of gauge rather than stitch count, make it easier than ever to knit Ocean Gems for everyone you know. The Ocean Gems pattern itself is deceptively easy to knit, so don't let the fact that it's lace make you believe it's over your head -- it absolutely isn't. And just think how much fun these are going to be to wear!
