Manon Lescaut, perhaps the most glamorous of all opera's tragic figures, chose money over love and learned all too late the terrible mistake she had made. And yet, perhaps because she does finally realize her error, she is one of the most beloved heroine's on the operatic stage. Reflecting her prosperous days and befitting the open heart she came to have, Ilga Leja has designed a curved wrap that is as luxurious as Manon's ermine stole.

Accomplished through a graduated series of short rows, it is worked in Ruching (aka Ribbon Stitch or Gathered Stitch) down from the long, upper edge. It becomes a faster knit as you work to the shorter, lower edge.

Manon's unique shaping allows it to be worn as a shawl, a wrap or a shrug; because it is airy and light, you'll be able to wear it throughout the year.
