Please note that there is only 1 of each kit shown - it may be possible to order more of a particular colorway, but this should not be confused with matching a dyelot or duplicating an existing kit. Each is unique, individually handcrafted, one-of-a-kind and ultimately very beautiful.

The pattern for the Northern Nights Blanket above. The pattern is based on an easy-to-learn, simple-to-accomplish mitered garter stitch square which multiplies most happily as you knit along. Finished Size:approx. 48"x60"

Suggested needle size: 8mm/US 11

Frankly, I love the fat, opulent put-up of this kit is so much that it has occurred to me that setting it lovingly in a prominent place where I could look at it whenever I pass and pick it up to hug whenever I fancied might be a perfectly brilliant thing to do. I mean, what could be better than the epitome of "yarn-as-art," displayed well, conveying to all an abundance of flowing color, a sense of the neverending joy of fiber itself?

Oh. You're right. Knitting it would be better -- so would having the blanket to admire and especially sleep under. This combination of the Kid Aran and Curlylocks is uniquely soft and lustrous, the resulting blanket light and so warm that even a night in Nova Scotia in the heart of winter would be cozy.

But, until you knit it, displaying the yarn really is a perfectly reasonable thing to do.
