I truly never thought I could love, or even like, a Denise kit. I'm pretty much a natural fiber, natural food type of knitter, and the sight of all that plastic was not an inviting one. That was before I was given the opportunity to use the kit - afterwards, well, honestly, this is one of the best uses of plastic ever imagined!

What so great about a Denise Kit? To start with, the needles are smooth and so are the joins to the cable. I love the shape of the needle points, too -- they make it almost impossible to split or miss a stitch. In this one compact case, you have everything you need for all but the finest sorts of knitting, and you can create needles of the exact length and type you want in an instant. After you've knit your fill (does this ever happen?), just swap the needle tips for a pair of cable ends and Voila!, instant stitch holders.

Then there's the "Denise Dimension" of knitting in the round with two circular needles: just create two circulars, putting the size that will give you the gauge you want on the right hand side of each needle (unless you are left-handed and "mirror knit" - then, put them on the left side of each needle). Put needle tips that are 2 or 3 sizes smaller on the other side, and away you go! Because gauge is determined only by the right hand needle (see above for the exception), you can go round and round, discovering the ease of condo needle knitting while creating exactly the fabric you want.

Plus, these kits are perfect for traveling and more fun than a bag full of sale yarn. What's not to love?
