Camelspin 70% Silk, 30% Camel in Colorsong's Fashion Colors by Hand Maiden; 300m/328yds; 100g/3.5oz - 2 skeins
Romi Hill's complete 22-page pattern as a pdf download, including line-by-line and charted instructions and full color photos.
Suggested needle size: US5/3.75mm, circular or straight.
Gauge: 20st = 4" in stockinette stitch after blocking. Note: Every knitter's gauge is different, so you may need different size needles to achieve the gauge. Gauge is not important for this shawl, but a looser gauge will result in the use of more yardage.
Finished Measurements: Width: tip to tip: 75 inches after blocking; length: 14 inches after blocking. See schematic drawing below for shape of Alcyone.

*****
In Ancient Greek mythology, Alcyone is the queen who wards off storms and is the namesake of the Halcyon Days, 14 days surrounding the winter solstice, believed to be free of storms. Thus it shall be for you in Romi's beautiful Alcyone shawl, now made sumputous in Hand Maiden Camelspin and Colorsong's Fashion Colors. As you'll see when you knit it, this little goddess wraps around your shoulders at just the points where chill winds seek to invade. Create your own Halcyone Day every day you wear Alcyone.
